Padley Gorge Photo Blog – From the Beautiful Peak District

Last weekend our family took a drive out into the Peak District of Derbyshire. We visited Padley Gorge, a stunning location just outside Grindleford.

I’ve collected my favourite photos from the trip and assembled them here for you to enjoy. It’s a lovely place to take your kids (and the dog too) for bit of muddy fun!

Padley Gorge – A Picturesque Location

There’s ample free parking in the area so this is a completely free afternoon out. The main entrance to the Padley Gorge trail is right next to Grindleford Train Station, so set a satnav and it’ll be easy to find.

You can also access the trail from the main road, which will bring you straight on to the stunning paths. The area is dense in foliage and there’s a gorgeous stream than runs down the valley.

Padley Gorge – Hours of Exploration

The area offers plenty to explore with dense forested paths and twisting walkways toward the stream. We spent a few hours walking around snapping photos and still hadn’t seen anywhere near everything the gorge had to offer.

We’ll soon be heading back to explore the areas at the other side of the stream. If it means coming away with great photos I certainly don’t mind the mud!

Padley Gorge – Just One of the Stunning Peaks Locations

The Peak District is one of my favourite places in the country and also full of great days out for the family. I’ve previously blogged about Castleton, Surprise View and Peveril Castle.

Finally, if you’ve never been, come and visit. You won’t be disappointed!

A bit too far out for me to visit any time soon but I would love to go. What stunning photos!
