I’ve made no secret on my blog that I’m a Trekkie. I actually wrote a two part guide to the universe, for people who liked the idea of catching up before Discovery began. I’ve been looking forward to the launch of a modern take on the franchise without the cinema baggage. Here’s what I think so far.
A great movie has the ability to capture your imagination for a lifetime. Whether it’s because of the innovation of special effects or the gripping story line, it’s likely that a few movies were responsible for forming your ideals as an adult. There are some movies that can thrill you momentarily and others that stand the test of time; the kind of movies you can watch over and over again.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to take some photos of a few bands playing live at Heaven & Hell Fest 2017 in Hull. I attended on the Monday evening and photographed Normaliser and Sertraline. Here’s a few shots from the night for your viewing pleasure!
I quite enjoy scanning through Amazon Prime and Netflix. I’ve discovered quite a few little known gems that have entertained much more than you’d expect. Hardcore Henry is no exception. It’s unlike anything I’ve watched before in that it feels like you’re watching a video game cut scene play out on your TV.
I’ve been inspired by Fudgey (Who has his very own hilarious blog) to write an A-Z of things. The idea is that I’ll write about something that I either really like, or hate with a fire fuelled passion while making my way through the alphabet. We’re going to start with Adam Sandler.
He finds them fun, he copies what he sees, he laughs like a lunatic. I get a different vibe when I’m watching kids programs with the small one. I thought it would be interesting to translate some of Eban’s current and past favourites into an adult relatable format. It’s not pretty…
I’ve written a Resident Evil Final Chapter review. I’m poorly sick and my attention span has dwindled to that of a sugar charged toddler. All I’ve been doing is watching films and gaming while sat in bed.
Here I present you with some of the fruits from that intense period of Man Flu. Enjoy.
World Book Day celebrates the wonders of reading. It encourages children and adults alike to sit back and enjoy a good story. I’ve compiled a list of my favourite children’s books for World Book Day.
There’s nothing better than cuddling up with your sprogs and sharing the glories of a good book. Roald Dahl anyone?
In part one of the Star Trek guide we covered everything preceding Deep Space Nine. I included all the movies prior to the reboot in there too except Nemesis, as they were all based on the first two crews.
So without further ado, let’s dive into part two and conclude our journey through Trekkie History.
